1/x can be simply divided into whatever the value of x happens to be.

sin, cos, tan, inv

The functions in trigonometry that deal with angles are sine ( sin) cosine ( cos) and the tangent ( tan).

Additionally, there is the option of turning backwards. If you are familiar with your sine, cosine or the tangent function, you can determine the angle in degrees for the function. This is known as the inverse ( inv) operation. These are also known as arcosine, the arcsine and arctangent.

  • Enter 0.5 in the box, then select intov followed by sin. You should get 30 (degrees) for the answer.

x^2 and x^y

x2 means "x squared" or x 2. This could also mean that x is multiplied by x, or x*x.Clear allEnter 3 then click to enter x2 to calculate nine. x^y means that x is raised to the power of. For example, if 3 = 3, you'd get x cubed or x 3.. This operation can be tricky.Suppose you want to calculate three four. sqrt

sqrt refers to what is known as the square root. It is commonly used as the symbol , however it might not appear in some older browsers.

Square root a number refers to the value multiplied by itself that is equal to the original number.
